“Falling in love in the first place is a matter of instinct and feeling rather than rational thought. Our check lists of what we want in a partner go out the window when we find ourselves sexually attracted to someone who, for some reason we cannot explain, we feel drawn to. We might have had fantasies of a tall, dark, rich stranger only to find ourselves attracted to a smaller, fair, poorer, lod friend who sexual partner. What do we do? Do we reject the possibility because this person does not meet our criterion, as we would a car with no sunroof, or a flat with too small a balcony, or do we follow our instincts? Most of us will follow the older, some might say wiser animal intincts of the body.”
